Residents of The Academy Chorro have the opportunity to enjoy live music from the region's most popular bands while at the same time, purchasing delicious food and produce at one of the longest running farmer's market in the region.
The Fresh Picked Concert Series is winding down and playing its last concert on Thursday, October 4th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The concerts take place in Downtown San Luis Obispo (SLO) Farmers' Market in the Union Bank parking lot on the corner of Higuera and Osos. The location is right down the street from the apartment complex.
The Mother Corn Shuckers, a popular local bluegrass band will be playing on October 4th. The band is known for playing fast-moving country music that gets people of all ages onto the dance floor. On its website, the band describes itself as a "ragged band of surf-a-billies," that play "foot-stompin' melodies."
The concert takes place at one the Central Coast's oldest farmer's market in beautiful downtown SLO. As locals already know, the downtown area is a beautifully preserved historic destination where residents and tourists alike can be found enjoying delicious coffee at a neighborhood bistro while perusing through great deals at several boutique stores. In fact, the downtown area was awarded the "Great American Main Street Award" by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Concertgoers can also purchase delicious and fresh produce at the farmer's market along with other delicious fresh foods such as sushi, organic honey, homemade ice cream, and slow-cooked barbecue just to name a few.
