The Best Haunted Houses in San Luis Obispo
If you're a thrill seeker looking to be frightened, you're in luck. San Luis Obispo is home to some seriously scary haunted attractions.
Here are a few favorites:
NIGHTMARE ON MAIN STREET
In Templeton, Nightmare on Main Street is the perfect place for a little scare! This Halloween it's in its 8th year running and takes place in a 120-year-old abandoned house...spooky! This haunted house is open on Friday and Saturday nights starting October 5th, as well as October 30th and 31st at 7 PM. If you are looking for something a little less scary, check out the haunted house on October 20th or 27th at 5 PM, when they run the house with the lights on. Check out Nightmare on Main Street for an absolutely frightening experience!
THE HAUNT IN ATASCADERO
Visit the "abandoned toy factory" theme haunted house at The Haunt in Atascadero. They have 17 terrifying rooms and even 2 nights of complete darkness, except for a lantern that you carry throughout the haunted house. They are open Friday and Saturday nights in October and October 30th and 31st. The Night Terrors - complete darkness nights- are on October 21st and 28th. They also have family friendly, lights on tours during the day on October 21st and 28th.
VISIT HAUNTED PLACES
If you want a paranormally freaky night, visit one (or more!) of the many places that are rumored to actually be haunted. Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa is said to be cursed due to its long, debatable history. Adelaida Cemetery has locals saying that it is haunted by the many ghosts buried on the grounds. Word is, there is even a "bleeding" tree! Victorian Pitkin Conrow Estate may be a popular wedding site today, but gossip says there is a ghost that hangs out in the tower laughing.
San Luis Obispo is home to some fun, strange, Halloween haunts! Check them out and contact The Academy Chorro to make San Luis Obispo your not so haunted home.
Are you craving more fall fun? How about the flavors of the season? If so, head to one of the many pie shops in the area that are serving up pumpkin, pecan, and other autumnal delights! Find them here.
